Purpose and quality of the content

software-exploration.com publishes tests, comparisons and reviews of software (artificial intelligence, SEO, marketing, gaming…). We do our best to provide accurate, checked information. Software prices, offers and features change often: always check the terms on the publisher’s site before subscribing. If something looks wrong, you can let us know through the contact page.

Some links on the site, including the “Try” buttons and links going through software-exploration.com/go/…, are affiliate links. If you subscribe or buy after clicking one, we may earn a commission from the software publisher or the affiliate platform, at no extra cost to you. Some promo codes mentioned on the site are also tied to these partnerships.

These commissions fund the site, but they never change our scores or verdicts: a publisher cannot buy a score or a ranking.

When you click an affiliate link, you leave the site: the publisher or the affiliate platform may then set its own cookies on its site to attribute the sale. Those cookies are covered by their privacy policy, not ours.

Intellectual property

software-exploration.com owns the intellectual property rights, or holds the rights of use, to its own elements on the site, including texts, graphics, logo and icons.

The names, logos, screenshots and visuals of the software we present belong to their respective publishers. They are reproduced only to illustrate our reviews.

Any reproduction, representation, modification, publication or adaptation of all or part of the site, by any means, is prohibited without the prior written consent of the site manager. Any unauthorised use of the site or its content will be treated as infringement and prosecuted under Articles L.335-2 and following of the French Intellectual Property Code.

Personal data

The data controller for data collected on the site is Les Conquérants du Web. We only collect the data we need and never sell it.

Contact form

When you write to us, your name, e-mail address and message are sent to us by e-mail so that we can reply. They are not stored on the site. We keep these exchanges for as long as it takes to handle your request, then for 3 years at most.

Comments and reader reviews

When you leave a comment or a review, we store your name, your e-mail address (never published), your rating, your message, your IP address and the date, to moderate reviews and fight spam. This data is kept for as long as the comment is online. You can ask for it to be deleted at any time.

Audience measurement

Only if you accept it in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited) to measure the site’s audience: pages viewed, visit length, traffic sources, device type. These statistics are only used to improve the site. Data may be transferred to the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. If you refuse, Google Analytics is not loaded.

We also use Google Search Console, which gives statistics on how the site appears in Google results. It sets no cookie and collects no data on the site.

Security and server logs

Visits to the site are logged by the host for security analysis and to defend against cyber-attacks. Apart from the IP address, no personal data is collected in this process. Logs are deleted regularly.

To display some interactive elements, pages load files from third-party services (jsDelivr, unpkg); as with any web request, these services receive your IP address.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and French data protection law, you have the right to access, correct, erase, object to, restrict and port your data. To use these rights, write to us through the contact page (subject “My personal data”) or by e-mail. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority (www.cnil.fr).

Cookies

The site uses the following cookies:

  • pll_language: remembers the language you chose (English or French). Necessary cookie, kept 1 year.
  • comment_author_…: remembers your name and e-mail for your next comments, only if you tick the box. Kept 1 year.
  • se_consent: remembers your choice in the cookie banner. Kept 6 months.
  • _ga, _ga_… (Google Analytics): audience measurement, set only if you accept. Kept 13 months at most.

Necessary cookies do not require consent. You can change your mind about audience measurement at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page, or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Liability

The site contains links to other sites we do not run. Although we take care over the quality of these links, we cannot be held responsible for them, nor for the content, advertising, products, services or any other material available on those sites, which are neither checked nor endorsed by Les Conquérants du Web.

Comments and reader content

On the site’s reviews, you can post a review, a rating and comments. They reflect their author’s opinion, not necessarily ours. Les Conquérants du Web cannot be held responsible for comments, or for any loss, cost, damage or expense caused by their use or publication.

Reviews are moderated before they appear. We reserve the right to refuse or remove any comment we consider inappropriate, offensive, promotional or contrary to these terms.

By posting a comment, you confirm that:

  • you have all the rights, licences and permissions needed to post it on software-exploration.com;
  • it does not infringe any third party’s intellectual property (copyright, patents, trademarks…);
  • it contains nothing defamatory, abusive, offensive, indecent or illegal, and does not invade anyone’s privacy;
